When Johnny Comes Marching Home
When Johnny comes marching home again,
Hurrah, hurrah!
We’ll give him a hearty welcome then,
Hurrah, hurrah!
The men will cheer, the boys will shout,
The ladies, they will all turn out,
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
The old church bell will peal with joy,
Hurrah, hurrah!
To welcome home our darling boy,
Hurrah, hurrah!
The village lads and lassies say,
With roses, they will strew the way,
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
Get ready for the jubilee,
Hurrah, hurrah!
We’ll give the hero three times three;
Hurrah, hurrah!
The laurel wreath is ready now,
To place upon his loyal brow.
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
Let love and friendship on that day,
Hurrah, hurrah!
Their choicest treasures then display,
Hurrah, hurrah!
And let each one perform some part,
To fill with joy the warrior’s heart,
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
And we’ll all feel gay,
When Johnny comes marching home.
(A Little Bit Of Heaven Shure They Call It Ireland)」(http://yogaku-manyoshu.blog.jp/archives/21880271.html)でメロディーが引用されている楽曲です。 (Johnny Fill Up The Bowl)」のメロディーを流用しています。

My Irish Rosie
Come out, Rosie, in the bright moonlight,
Come out, Rosie, for tonight’s the night,
My sweet aroon,
Come out and spoon.
Nightbirds cooing in the trees above,
Wait to greet you with their songs of love.
My Rosie oh,
I love you so,
Oh Rosie dear, and did you hear the news that’s going round.
Rosie, my Rosie,
My Irish Rosie,
Come out, love and spoon.
Maytime is playtime come have a gay time,
Under the young May moon.
My love is true, dear,
I love but you, dear,
Nobody else will do,
Ev’ry star up in the sky so bright,
Seems to tell me that your heart’s all right,
My charming Irish Rosie.
Rosie, my Rosie,
My Irish Rosie,
Come out, love and spoon.
Maytime is playtime come have a gay time,
Under the young May moon.
My love is true, dear,
I love but you, dear,
Nobody else will do,
Ev’ry star up in the sky so bright,
Seems to tell me that your heart’s all right,
My charming Irish Rosie.
Come out, Rosie, on the balcony,
Come out, Rosie, take a peep at me,
My pretty dear,
Look, love, who’s here.
What I want to know well, you can guess,
Come out, Rosie dear, and just say yes.
My sweet Colleen,
My Irish Queen,
Oh Rosie dear, and did you hear I’ve bought the wedding ring.
Rosie, my Rosie,
My Irish Rosie,
Come out, love and spoon.
Maytime is playtime come have a gay time,
Under the young May moon.
My love is true, dear,
I love but you, dear,
Nobody else will do,
Ev’ry star up in the sky so bright,
Seems to tell me that your heart’s all right,
My charming Irish Rosie.
Rosie, my Rosie,

I’m Wearing My Heart Away for You
I wonder where you are tonight, my love,
As all alone I sit and dream.
I wonder if your heart’s with me tonight,
And if the same stars for you gleam.
I sometimes fear there is another, love,
Some fairer face has won your heart;
But Ah, I hope the day will never come,
The day that we two must live apart.
I’m wearing my heart away for you,
It cries aloud, “My love be true,”
I dream of you by night,
I long for you by day,
I’m wearing my heart away for you.
The bees are droning in the wildwood, love,
The flowers their tiny heads bow low.
The birds are singing soft and plaintively,
They miss your dear kind face I know.
From o’ver the meadow comes a faint perfume,
It whispers gently, “Love you’re true;”
But Oh, my darling, if you only knew,
I’m wearing my heart away for you.
I’m wearing my heart away for you,
It cries aloud, “My love be true,”
I dream of you by night,
I long for you by day,
I’m wearing my heart away for you.

On a Good Old Trolley Ride
Sometimes on Sunday, for that is my fun day,
You’ll find me in the park.
Watching the spooners and star gazing mooners,
Skylarking after dark,
But there’s a pleasure, it’s one which I treasure
On Sunday afternoon.
Out with my Pearlie, my steady young girlie,
This is the only tune.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
Some folks are wealthy and I’m only healthy,
But health is wealth to me.
Pity the party who isn’t so hearty,
And can’t stand jollity;
Keep all your wheeling and automobeling,
That’s not the only thing.
When it is sunny just give me my honey,
And then you’ll hear me sing.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
(In the Good Old Summer Time)」(http://yogaku-manyoshu.blog.jp/archives/5304042.html)との関連が伺われます。
spooners:spoon(男女が愛し合うこと)する人たち。

Come Take a Trip in My Airship
I love a sailor, the sailor loves me,
And sails ev’ry night to my home.
He’s not a sailor that sails o’er the sea,
Or over the wild briny foam;
For he owns an airship and sails up on high,
He’s just like a bird on the wing,
And when the shadows of evening draw nigh,
He’ll sail to my window and sing:
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
One night, while sailing away from the crowds,
We passed through the milky white way,
Just idly sailing and watching the clouds,
He asked me if I’d name the day.
And right near the dipper I gave him my heart,
The sun shines on our honeymoon,
We swore from each other we never would part,
And teach all the babies this tune:
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
