You’ll Have To Wait Till My Ship Comes In
Now, Jack who’s a sailor aboard of a whaler
That soon was to sail o’er the sea,
He just got an order to go, right aboard her,
When a friend says, “Jack, listen to me,
It may appear funny but I want that money,
That money You borrowed last May;
Why do you delay it, now why don’t you pay it?”
And Jack sang as he sailed away:
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
ship comes in, ship comes in;
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
Ye Ho! my lads, Ye Ho!
And that’s the time you will get your tin,
Get your tin, get your tin;
And when I return I’ll have money to burn,
After my ship comes in.
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
ship comes in, ship comes in;
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
Ye Ho! my lads, Ye Ho!
And that’s the time you will get your tin,
Get your tin, get your tin;
And when I return I’ll have money to burn,
After my ship comes in.
Where Jack’s ship was whaling a gale began galing
And frightfully damaged their craft,
And old Captain Connor says, “Boy’s, she’s a goner,”
Then all hands escaped on a raft;
When back home they landed just like a troupe stranded,
Jack’s same old friend steps from the crowd,
And says, “Jack come show me, come pay what you owe me;”
Jack smiled as he hollor’d out loud:
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
ship comes in, ship comes in;
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
Ye Ho! my lads, Ye Ho!
And that’s the time you will get your tin,
Get your tin, get your tin;
And when I return I’ll have money to burn,
After my ship comes in.
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
ship comes in, ship comes in;
You’ll have to wait till my ship comes in,
Ye Ho! my lads, Ye Ho!
And that’s the time you will get your tin,
Get your tin, get your tin;
And when I return I’ll have money to burn,
After my ship comes in.

On a Good Old Trolley Ride
Sometimes on Sunday, for that is my fun day,
You’ll find me in the park.
Watching the spooners and star gazing mooners,
Skylarking after dark,
But there’s a pleasure, it’s one which I treasure
On Sunday afternoon.
Out with my Pearlie, my steady young girlie,
This is the only tune.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
Some folks are wealthy and I’m only healthy,
But health is wealth to me.
Pity the party who isn’t so hearty,
And can’t stand jollity;
Keep all your wheeling and automobeling,
That’s not the only thing.
When it is sunny just give me my honey,
And then you’ll hear me sing.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
When speeding along on the trolley
I feel like a big millionaire,
A ride on the trolley is jolly.
Whatever you give up is fare;
The trolley’s a hummer in summer,
If you’ve got a girl at your side,
To tease in the breeze, while you’re stealing a squeeze,
On a good old five cent trolley ride.
(In the Good Old Summer Time)」(http://yogaku-manyoshu.blog.jp/archives/5304042.html)との関連が伺われます。
spooners:spoon(男女が愛し合うこと)する人たち。

Come Take a Trip in My Airship
I love a sailor, the sailor loves me,
And sails ev’ry night to my home.
He’s not a sailor that sails o’er the sea,
Or over the wild briny foam;
For he owns an airship and sails up on high,
He’s just like a bird on the wing,
And when the shadows of evening draw nigh,
He’ll sail to my window and sing:
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
One night, while sailing away from the crowds,
We passed through the milky white way,
Just idly sailing and watching the clouds,
He asked me if I’d name the day.
And right near the dipper I gave him my heart,
The sun shines on our honeymoon,
We swore from each other we never would part,
And teach all the babies this tune:
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
Come, take a sail ’mong the stars,
Come, have a ride around Venus,
Come, have a spin around Mars.
No one to watch while we’re kissing,
No one to see while we spoon.
Come, take a trip in my airship,
And we’ll visit the man in the moon.

on the wing:飛行中の。
nigh:近く。
Venus:金星。
Mars:

That Good Old Baylor Line
That Good old Baylor Line
That Good old Baylor Line
We’ll march forever down the years
As long as stars shall shine
We’ll fling our Green and Gold afar
To light the ways of time
And guide us as we onward go
That good old Baylor Line.
(Give it a proper Sic ’em Bears!)
(1906 original lyrics)
That good old Baylor line,
That good old Baylor line.
Where will Texas U. be when our stars begin to shine?
They’ll wish they were at home again, done up in turpentine.
The day our backs come up the field,
That good old Baylor line.
(In the Good Old Summer Time)」の替え歌を作って自分たちの大学の応援歌にしました。
our Green and Gold:緑と金はベイラー大の公式なシンボルカラーです。
Bears:
done up in turpentine:テレピン油まみれになる。

In the Good Old Summertime
In the good old summertime
In the good old summertime
Strolling down the shady lanes
With my sweetheart mine
I hold his hand and he holds mine
And that’s a very good sign
That he’s my tootsie-wootsie
In the good old summertime
Down the shady lane, down the shady lane
Down the shady lane, down the shady lane
Down the shady lane, down the shady lane
